New/Old Music From The Old Country

Post by Dirtman on Sat Feb 21, 2009 11:18 pm

She's very cute, 20 years old (the new part) and sings traditional folk songs (the old part).

She's also sexier than Madonna or Brittany without wearing skimpy tight clothing.

Makes me smile and want to get up and dance.

She can lip-sync too

She is just so kissable!

Notice that the accordians are real, with buttons, not the keyboard.

Why do I have such a sudden urge to quaff a stein of beer?

Love the cow...

And I'm with you on the beer..

It's awesome that some are attempting to keep the old ways alive with their youth.
When I hear her yodel.. I just keep picturing alpine mountains with deep grassy valleys...

But.. evidently... yodeling didn't start in the Alps...

Compare that melodious beat to the rat-a-tat crap that is rap.
(Damn, I had better take the test again!)

Why have I never heard of this group?

BZN

Because they're European (Dutch), where the radios still play good music.

VERY good music!

Alas they disbanded in 2007. I guess 40 years was enough. This is their last song performed at their last concert. Tears streaming from performers and audience alike. An introduction in Dutch and then their last song at their final concert.

This impressive performance is part of the Fiddle Finals at Pembroke, Ontario. Watch carefully how it's done.
