In the early days and weeks after September 11, 2001, a small cadre of men (and a few women) with vast amounts of intelligence experience reported to the Langley, Virginia headquarters of the CIA. These unsung heroes were then dispatched across the globe to run operations against the Al-Qaeda conspirators who leveled the World Trade Center and struck the nerve center of the US military.

The FBI, a domestic law enforcement agency, did not have the ability or skills needed to track down and strike the attackers overseas. The Pentagon, with F22s, nuclear aircraft carriers, intercontinental ballistic missiles, and battalions of the best armor in the history of mankind, was like an elephant attacked by a mouse—mighty, but helpless in its mammoth rage.

Our best hope lay with the grey-bearded intelligence professionals who fanned out across the world. Supplementing the skeleton crew of staff officers left in the wake of the Clintons’ anti-intelligence scourging of the CIA, the volunteers went to the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Africa, South America, to the most remote and isolated outposts in the world. Sometimes they worked with friendly forces, and sometimes they worked alone. They focused like a laser beam on one thing — stop the next attack. Their mission: Seek and destroy the terrorist planners, facilitators, trainers, financiers, and their infrastructure wherever they were.

Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, CIA officers, both the contractors and the over-extended staff officers, launched dozens of initiatives. The Counter-terrorist Center’s motto, “Deny, Disrupt, Destroy,” became the reason for our living. We left our families for months on end and sacrificed personal and professional lives to fight the Global War on Terror. Google “Jihadists in Paradise,” for an unauthorized account of one of my contributions (which I have been advised that I can neither confirm nor deny).

As I did my part in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Africa, my family tried to maintain a semblance of normalcy at home. My son was in eighth grade in September 2001. I did not see him graduate the next summer. I was home less than six months for each of the first three of his high school years. Even with my nightly phone calls, his attitude and grades plummeted in my absence. He went from a happy, engaged, charming 13 year old with straight A’s and a focus on the future, to a sullen, uncommunicative, high school flunky. I put my successful and lucrative executive recruiting business on hold for eight years. Finally, after five years of constant travel, my family sacrifice account was overdrawn. Coming home was an option for me, and I took it.

Others did not take that option, and they sacrificed the quality of their marriages, participation in their children’s and grandchildren’s lives, the profitability of their businesses, and more. Personal and professional issues festered and rotted while they fought to keep America safe and prevented further attacks on our homeland.

In contrast, where was Eric Holder? Before leaving President Clinton’s employ, he orchestrated the pardons of several Puerto Rican separatist terrorists. Then in 2003, as a partner in the Washington law firm of Covington & Burling, Mr Holder’s client, Chiquita Brands, admitted paying to support terrorist death squads in Colombia and paid a $25 million fine. During the time that my friends worked to disrupt and destroy terrorist networks threatening America, Holder’s firm represented — for free — 16 terrorist detainees held at Guantanamo.

Has he made any personal or professional sacrifices since his country was attacked in 2001? If he has, it is difficult to find them. When the Special Prosecutor comes calling, maybe someone from Covington & Burling can represent my colleagues for free, like they did for Lakhdar Boumedienne and ten other terrorists in Gitmo.

The Holder/Obama Global War on the CIA (GWCIA) has only just begun, as it debuted with “grisly revelations” of revving drills, gunshots in the next cell, and threats against a terrorist’s children. The GWOT is not for the faint of heart, nor the queasy. No war ever has been. There may be slight improprieties stashed in the CIA’s closets, but the liberal-appeasing GWCIA is foolhardy and dangerous.

Mike Spann, was the first to die in the GWOT. He won’t have to worry about the Holder/Obama GWCIA. But others in the Agency are very worried. While we sacrificed to achieve incremental victories, Holder and Obama plotted and schemed — not against those “evil-mongers” who killed our countrymen, but against those of us hunting the terrorists. Something is rotten in the state of Denmark. The odor is not from Langley, Mr Holder.

1). A few days ago, about 800 children in Farmington, Utah were subjected to watching a slickly-produced pro-Obama video. The video included shots of various celebrities making pledges. In one case, the pledge was to "be of service to Barack Obama." The video also includes lines about pledging to support stem cell research and pledging to drive a hybrid. Many conservative parents viewed this as propaganda and an attempt to indoctrinate their children. And I have no doubt the video (which is easy to embed into blogs) is partly responsible for the current backlash.

People were chanting "enough, enough" and "We the People." Others yelled "You lie, you lie!" and "Pelosi has to go," referring to California congresswoman Nancy Pelosi.

Richard Brigle, 57, a Vietnam War veteran and former Teamster, came from Michigan. He said health care needs to be reformed - but not according to President Barack Obama's plan.

"My grandkids are going to be paying for this. It's going to cost too much money that we don't have," he said while marching, bracing himself with a wooden cane as he walked.

FreedomWorks Foundation, a conservative organization led by former House of Representatives Majority Leader Dick Armey, organized several groups from across the country for what they billed as a "March on Washington."

Organizers say they built on momentum from the April "tea party" demonstrations held nationwide to protest tax policies, along with growing resentment over the economic stimulus packages and bank bailouts.

The Obama Administration, Explained

Imagine a large city, such as my home town, Detroit used to be, before liberalism destroyed it. Imagine that, in this city, a developer offers to buy a plot of land on which to build a multi-story office building. The upper floors will provide space for visionary entrepreneurs to start new businesses and to expand existing ones, create new products, new services and above all, new jobs. The ground floor will be retail space, providing much-needed products and services to the people who work in the offices above and to the rest of the city, too. And of course, for the people who work in them, the new stores will provide jobs.

Now imagine that someone else has a different idea. This person views people who buy land, put buildings on them, facilitate the creation of new products, services and jobs, but who have the gall to enrich themselves in the process, as evil, bloodsucking capitalists. This person believes that "the community" would be better served by turning the plot into a children's playground. Or he may believe, grudgingly, that an office building might be okay -- but only if the construction workers come from "the community." (The many jobs that would be created for the people who would work in the building is, of course, irrelevant.)

Imagine further that this person has a lot of friends and associates in "the community." When he talks, they listen, even when he tries to create an issue where no issue has existed before. (If "the community" needed a children's playground on this particular patch of vacant land so badly, why did no one demand one before?)

Imagine, then, that you have, on the one hand, a private party contemplating the purchase of a privately-owned plot of land, from another private party, in a private transaction; and on the other, you have a suddenly fired-up "community" that wants to stop it. There are but three ways to accomplish this. "The community" can (1) publicly shame the developer and/or the landowner, (2) get the local government to use its police power to force the developer and the landowner to give "the community" what it wants or (3) some combination of (1) and (2).

To pursue any of these alternatives, you need large numbers of people (whether these people actually live in "the community" is immaterial as long as there are a lot of them) to participate in large, public demonstrations at the proposed construction site, the developer's office, in front of City Hall and, ideally, at all three. And for that to happen, "the community" needs to be organized.

Enter the community organizer. The community organizer's job is to speak to groups within "the community;" write letters to sympathetic newspaper editors; bring in outside experts and professional rabble-rousers (who often come with their own professional rabble) and, most important, get the media to cover the demonstrations -- all with the object of assembling the critical mass of humanity needed to embarrass and/or pressure the private parties and/or government into doing what "the community" wants. Or, sometimes more accurately, what the community organizer has told them they want.

That's the community organizer's job. That's all he does and it's not rocket science. Any anti-Semitic, loudmouthed racial demagogue can do it (and, incidentally, become as rich as a real estate developer in the process). Community organizers are a dime a dozen.

Now imagine that the American economy takes a sudden dive, as it has many times in its history. But this time, it happens just weeks before a national election. And the American people panic. And, seized by a sudden fit of collective madness, the American people elect one of these rabble-rousing, dime-a-dozen community organizers President of the United States.
Obviously, the presidency is a position of enormous prestige and power. But still, why would anyone take that person, even as president -- especially as president -- seriously? And why would anyone be surprised by the results?

Suppose it was revealed that the pastor who had married George and Laura Bush, baptized their two daughters and ministered to their spiritual needs for 20 years was a raving white supremacist who, from the pulpit, preached the separation of the races, claimed that the promiscuity of African-Americans had quickened the spread of AIDS and mused about how America might be improved if black people were sent back to Africa.

Or what if Mr. Bush, while president, had appointed an admitted neo-Nazi to a senior advisory post within his administration, a man who openly endorsed the use of child labour in Third World sweatshops and accused all Muslims of being terrorists or terrorist sympathizers hellbent on the destruction of Western civilization?

Or how about former vice-president Dick Cheney, the American left's favourite dark prince? What if it were revealed he had been one of eight members of a foundation board that had also included an ex-mercenary who, while never convicted of an assassination, nonetheless boasted about of having shot at several Third World leaders and lamented aloud how he'd wished he'd done more?

The leftist blogosphere would never believe that Messrs. Bush and Cheney were unaware of the radical positions taken by these associates. Lefty bloggers like Daily Kos and Moveon.orgwould see these affiliations as proof positive of a secret Evangelical- fascist agenda submerged deep within the administration bent on provoking wars of aggression for commercial gain. And the bloggers would be cheered from the sidelines by CNN, the New York Times, CNBC, CBS and National Public Radio.

Now what if on top of all this, it was revealed that George Bush had once done work for an organization that then stuffed ballot boxes to get him elected and routinely counselled clients on how to cheat on their taxes?

Barack Obama is guilty of associations similar to all of these less than eight months into his administration.

The most recent disclosures are about Acorn, the Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now, of which Mr. Obama was not only once a prominent member, but which he had hoped to involve in, among other things, next year's U. S. census that will help determine the number of Congressional districts in Democratfriendly inner cities.

Several Acorn employees have recently been caught on tape counselling apparent inner city residents on how to cheat on their taxes, and more than a dozen others have been charged with submitting fraudulent voter registrations on behalf of the Democrats in last fall's presidential election.

Most members of the American media are wilfully blind to the possibility of a pattern in all this. They refuse to see how the President's past associations might reveal a reflexively radical nature Mr. Obama has worked had to disguise.

The minister who performed Mr. Obama's marriage to Michelle, Rev. Jeremiah Wright of Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ, who baptized their two girls and was the family's pastor for 20 years, of course has said many famous and inflammatory things. Best known is Rev. Wright's call for blacks to sing God Damn America, rather than God Bless America. Even since Mr. Obama's inauguration, though, his former preacher has continued to blame plots by whites and Jews for America's troubles.

Then there is Van Jones, Mr. Obama's so-called "green jobs czar," who resigned earlier this month after it was discovered that he was a self-described "rowdy communist" and black nationalist who had as recently as four years ago signed a "Truther" petition. (A Truther is someone who believes the Bush White House or CIA were really behind the 9/11 attacks.) On the night after the 9/11 attacks, Mr. Jones had helped organize a vigil at which speakers denounced America, expressed sympathy for "America's victims" around the world and stated their solidarity with Muslims.

And, of course, Mr. Obama had sat for three years on the eight-person board of Chicago's Woods Fund with William Ayers, an unrepentant '60s radical and former member of the Weather Underground, who still brags about setting bombs in laboratories and businesses with connections to the Vietnam war.

On far less evidence, most Western journalists were able to convince themselves that George Bush was the most dangerous, illegitimate president ever. Yet they give Barack Obama a free ride.

On September 12, 2009, I took part in the largest anti-big-government demonstration in the history of mankind. To borrow an expression from Joe Biden, the Taxpayers' March on Washington was clean and articulate. It was clean because over a million earners of American wealth didn't litter or destroy things and generally behaved as responsible property owners - as opposed to leftist protesters who often act as unwelcome gatecrashers. Once again the political class was reminded who really owns the place, only this time the owners were adamant about it, articulating over and over in a million voices directed at the Capitol, "We own the dome!"

For three days Washington was filled with friendly, cheerful working people, easily identifiable by their American flags and their shirts, pins, and signs with clever, heartfelt messages on them. If one were to judge this nation by the people walking the streets of its capital that weekend, one might surmise that America was inhabited by highly rational, creative, positive, responsible, and engaging individuals. Unfortunately, on most other days Washington exemplifies the opposite, misrepresenting this nation in every sense of the word.

Despite the accusations of being an "angry mob" thrown at them by Democratic politicians, the tea partiers - many of whom wore shirts with the words "this is what an angry mob looks like" - exhibited an exemplary peaceful behavior; not a single arrest was made. Unlike the leftist protesters who by and large claim to be for clean environment but always leave piles of trash after themselves, the protesting taxpayers left immaculately clean lawns and deposited their trash in designated areas. At the end of the rally I witnessed a scene where a splinter group of the departing "angry mob" actually waved at the passing police officers and thanked them for their service. And why not? If they "owned the dome," they also owned the police. It is they whom the officers serve. They pay for that service with their taxes.

This is the exact opposite of the attitude of leftist protesters whom I have seen throwing bottles at the police and calling the officers pigs and Nazis without provocation. This contrasting behavior is perhaps the best illustration of the philosophical differences between the two types of protester.

It is the difference between the responsible property owner and the quarrelsome delinquent tenant. And I don't mean tenants who have become temporarily broke due to unfortunate circumstances. I mean the "permanently offended" bully type, the fully capable but unproductive malcontent who resorts to righteous belligerence to obfuscate his own moral shortcomings that prevent him from paying rent. He litigates and finds a million excuses for his desire to live off someone else's dime.

Political rogues have learned to spot such delinquents and recruit them into subversive pressure groups they deceptively call "community organizations," which they use to infiltrate a building management. As it were, the new managers have recently declared the loud-mouth non-payers the "rightful owners" of the property and are now changing the rules and redistributing the apartments. And when the real owners have finally cried foul, they are dismissed as a hateful mob, with Obama condescendingly explaining their actions as trying "to get 15 minutes of fame" by being rude.
