Party Poker

Post by Dirtman on Sat Apr 19, 2008 7:11 pm

How come when I log on to this forum I also get a "Party Poker" website? Has that been added on purpose or has someone attached it somehow? I sure don't care for it, that's the type of thing usually found with less-than-reputable websites as income earners. It reflects badly on this site.

I don't get that. I don't log out though - maybe that makes a difference?

If you clear your cookies you essentially log out so thats not the reason.
I don't get it either.

Clear the whole shebang. Cookies, history, cache, IE temporary files.

Then it will be gone I bet.

I'm guessing. Give it a try. It should be done regularly anyway to remove the clutter and speed up the computer. You will lose all the automatic sign in though.
Go to tools and then options in the browser.

I haven't been deleting cookies lately because I don't know my passwords to various sites.

Funny that the Party Poker thing would only come up on this website though...

Is it a pop-up? I have a pop-up blocker.

No, my popup blocker works just fine. It opens up in a new window.

Isn't that basically what a pop-up is?

Usually a pop-up is a little sub-window in front of the page you're viewing. It could be some kind of sophisticated pop-up but my blocker is on and it notifies me when a pop-up is blocked. I haven't seen anything get past it before. Also, I do believe that pop-ups are deliberatly put onto websites by the webmaster of that site.

Hmmm... I'm out of suggestions then. I don't get that page, and since zoof doesn't either, my guess is it has something to do with your settings?

Well what I would do is find those passwords. Try to change them in your profile. Change to a common password for all. If it wont change request a new password. Then when you have them delete the cookies.

Or if you are using IE log on using Firefox. They have a different system.

Or just delete History and IE temporary files and leave the cookies alone.
