Re: Park here.
It's my lucky days. Yesterday playing golf at Lake Padden I got a cell phone call. I had won a travel package worth $2600. All I had to do to claim the prize was press 1 for details.
I was kinda busy and didn't want to generate roaming charges to the Bahamas or Bulgaria so I lost out again.

Re: Park here.
A couple years ago I was being emailed that I had won a prodigious amount of money on lotteries I hadn't entered. I added them up once and figured that I was making a total of around $40 million per month without even trying!
I answered a couple of them and strung them along for a while until they wized up and realized what I was doing. Try it, it can be fun.

Re: Park here.
I was tempted to but even if I gave false info on everything they would still have my gmail addy to work with. These days the identity thieves are light years ahead of the old scammers. Hell what if they cracked my email and saw my love letters to Sarah, Kim Novak ( now deceased RIP) and Meg Ryan?? I'd be blackmailed out of my new golf clubs.

Re: Park here.
They already had my email so what did I have to lose? I gave them no real information.
I also used to get a lot of emails from people who had access to millions of uncliamed money and needed my help to access it for which they would give me half. I was tempted to try their own scam on them:
"I would love to help you and I have over $10,000 in my bank account, but alas, the government has frozen my account because of an error in my income tax return and is demanding the immediate payment of $1247.09. Because they have frozen my account, naturally I cannot pay them. If you could help me pay off the paltry sum $1247.09 that the tax department requires I would then be able to help you to our mutual advantage."
Think it would work?

Re: Park here.
Haha, it may work but I think these guys are not from Nigeria. I think replying using your email gives them more info than just having your email addy. They can trace back to where it came from etc. Probably the IP and name too.

Re: Park here.
Well.. I totally resent even the few seconds it takes to skim the info so that I can feel pissed off for a second that there are twerps out there whose only purpose is to rip people off.
A pox on them.

Total wackiness at the quasi-judiciary: Here's how the latest CHRT hearing went down--the complainant didn't show up, the target of the complaint didn't show up either, so the "judge" up and dismissed the whole shebang.
Unstated on the CHRC site: exactly how much did that no-show farce (in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, of all places) end up costing Canadian taxpayers?

Brits among the 'ugliest people in the world'By Daily Mail Reporter

Brits are among the ugliest people in the world... according to an exclusive website which only allows 'beautiful' people to join.
Less than one in eight UK men (12 per cent) and just three in 20 women (15 per cent) who have applied to BeautifulPeople.com have been accepted as members.
Existing members of the website rate how attractive potential members are over a 48-hour provisional period, when applicants upload a recent photograph and a short personal profile.
The ugly truth: Harry Enfield and Kathy Burke pictured as characters Wayne and Waynetta Slob. Dating site Beautiful People found Brits are among the least attractive people in the world
They are rated by members of the opposite sex, who have four options to describe how attractive they think the hopeful is - 'Yes definitely', 'Hmmm yes, OK', 'Hmmm no, not really' and 'NO definitely NOT'.
Swedish men have proved the most successful applicants, with two-thirds (65 per cent) of those putting themselves forward being accepted.
Norwegian women are considered the most beautiful with more than three-quarters (76 per cent) making the grade.
