Gordo Gag Law

Post by Dirtman on Mon May 19, 2008 9:00 pm

One of the big restrictions to free speech and participation in the democratic process was the NDP gag law provincially, and the Liberal gag law federally.

Well, Gordo must be afraid that all the BS he's been pushing on us lately will be brought up at election time, so he's bringing in his own gag law.

It's getting difficult to tell him apart from his rivals.

Bill 42, the Election Amendment Act, places extreme limits on public interest advertising and communication in B.C. from December of this year until the May, 2009 provincial election.

How does Bill 42 limit free speech?
Bill 42 changes the definition of third party advertising to include “an advertising message that promotes or opposes, directly or indirectly, a registered political party… including an advertising message that takes a position on an issue with which a registered political party or candidate is associated.”

Everyone should wear a strip of duct tape over their mouth on some designated protest day. The world's press will be here filming people with taped mouths.

Bloggers will get the messages out.
Gordo is a greenie activist so must think discussion is over with GW. Now he is applying the same shit to advertising news.
